Updates to Descent
Hi all.
Thanks to everyone who has played or showed an interest in the game, and especially to those who shared their playthroughs online. It's really great to see them, and very helpful for spotting things that could do with improvement. This game was made in under a week, so it's hardly surprising that there were a few bugs and flawed design decisions, but the response has been very encouraging so I thought it was worth tightening some things up.
Based on your comments and videos, I've added a few updates and fixes to Descent
- Added input rotation option - You can now rotate the controls so that isometic movement feels more natural to you whether on keyboard or controller. Use [R] to toggle through the options.
- Added camera perspective toggle - Purely cosmetic. You can choose between isometric or perspective view with the [C] button.
- Adjusted visual zoom level
- Implemented a proper scene reload at that part
- Made in harder to miss crucial text
- Added some objects to stop you falling to your death too early
- Visual cue changes
- Adjusted floor colliders
- Adjusted colliders on almost everything, so no more climbing the furniture
- Fixed timings of ghosts
- Fixed an issue with repeated triggering of aliens
- Fixed typos in log text
- New music
- New content (nothing game-changing)
- New title screen
Fixed bug where you could end up dropping through the floor (I hope!) - This has been the hardest one to figure out.
So, that's it for now. Keep following for future developments and hit me up if you run into any problems with the game.
Happy new year to you all
